Research at the Department of Inorganic Chemistry (DIC) revolves around two laboratories, each subdivided into three teams. The research carried out at DICis both applied and theoretical and generally aims at the development of Cameroonian resources, environmental preservation, the synthesis of coordination compounds for technological and / or medical application and the development of quantum theory of molecular and/or reactive description.
Main research areas:
- Study of tropical woods: carbonization, protection
- Composite materials and Nanocomposites
- Physico-chemical study and valuation of natural mineral materials (clays, bauxite, ..)
- Design and development of coordination compounds for technological and industrial application (syntheses, characterizations and properties)
- New bi-functional N-, O-, S- and/or P- donor chelating systems and their metal complexes (Syntheses and characterization of transition metal complexes with therapeutic, biological and industrial applications)
